Mac And Me star Barbara Allyne Bennet has died at the age of 76. She passed away at City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, California on January 9. Known for versatile acting skill she performed in many productions and had a long and distinguished career in television and film industry.
A showbiz for more than five decades Barbara was born in Cleveland and graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a B.A. in theatre. After her graduation she moved New York City only to appear in “Gorilla Queen” on Broadway and “Boy on the Straight-Back Chair” Off Broadway. She moved to Hollywood in the 1970s to pursue a career film and television and did some of the most famous roles in number of series. She is survived by her family members. Barbara will be most remembered for her role in 1988 science fiction adventure film Mac And Me, and TV shows like The West Wing, Brothers & Sisters, The Office, Chicago Hope, Shameless and NYPD Blue. Apart from acting she also worked as a production assistant on “The Rose,” production coordinator on “Flying High” and a casting coordinator on “A Killer in the Family.” She was equally active either in front of or behind the camera and voiced national commercials for Ford, Hyundai and Tide Laundry Detergent.She was associated with Screen A
