Daniel "Dan" Gerson a screenwriter who co-wrote several Walt Disney animated films died at the age of 49 on February 6, 2016. Affected with brain cancer he was 49 at the time of his death. Daniel Gerson will ever be remembered as one of the prolific screenwriter who created magic by writing some of the most popular scripts for Walt Disney animated films.
Born in New York in 1966, Gerson began his career as television scriptwriter for the NBC sitcom "Something So Right." A frequent contributor for Pixar Animation, he along with Robert L. Baird and Jordan Roberts co-wrote animated film "Big Hero 6," which won the Oscar last year for best animated feature. He along with Andrew Stanton is credited for the screenplay of Monsters, Inc. The magic was recreated with Robert L. Baird and Dan Scanlon when they came up with its sequel Monsters University. He was also a voice actor in the film Monsters, Inc. and Big Hero 6. He will be also remembered for his valuable contribution in Chicken Little, Cars, Meet the Robinsons, Curious George, Up and Inside Out. He also contributed for many television shows including Misguided Angeles, Big Wolf on Campus and Something So Right. Gerson is survived by his parents, wife, Beau Stacom, and two children, and a sister.
